A LANCASTER University scientist is pairing up with Lancashire MP Hilton Dawson.
Physics research fellow Dr Richard Haley will spend all next week in the House of Commons to get a 'behind the scenes' insight into how Government science policy is formed and an understanding of the working life of an MP.
As part of the scheme, which aims to build bridges between some of the best research workers in the country and MPs, Mr Dawson - Labour member for Lancaster and Wyre - will then visit the university for the day.
Dr Haley says: "I am very excited about it. It will be very interesting to find out what hap-pens in Westminster.
" I'd like t know where our money comes from and who decides where it goes, how those decisions are made and how policy is developed and influenced, for instance."
