SPARKS are set to fly on October 30 when Bury holds its biggest-ever firework display.
To celebrate 20 years in the firework business, Radcliffe businessman Peter Stephenson is donating £20,000 worth of professional pyrotechnics for a spectacular charity firework and light show in Burrs Country Park in aid of Pendlebury Children's Hospital.
Mr Stephenson, who runs Celebration Displays, said: "It really will be an amazing display, usually seen only at places like Alton Towers and Disneyworld."
Opening the event will be television star Dominique Jackson, known to youngsters as Becky in Barnarby and Becky.
She also played Saffron in Buried Treasures, alongside the late John Thaw. In addition to the display, there will be a mini-funfair, a roadshow, a light show, barbecue and outdoor bar.
The entrance fee is £2, but children under one metre tall will not be charged. The gates open at 6pm. The evening starts with a pre-display build-up, with the sparks really set to fly from 8pm.
