RADCLIFFE AC runners took to the hills again when they joined more than 100 teams from all over the UK in the 16th Athletic Fell and Hill Running Relay Championships.
A six-strong team in the open class covered courses on the hills above Kinder Reservoir in the Peak District.
The relay was split into four legs and Danny Appleby taktook first solo leg, with Peter McNulty and Tony Holt taking on leg two, just over eight miles.
Tony went over on his ankle but he managed to struggle the pain barrier to the finish so the third leg could set off.
Brian Booth and Sheila McNulty then covered the navigation leg in an ipressive under two hours.
The final leg was another solo one, with a creditable run from Steve Hamer.
This was the third time the club has entered a team in the national relay.
