ASTLEY & Tyldesley rounded off the 2004 outdoor cycle speedway season by hosting the final round of the Northern Fours & Junior League series at Gin Pit.
Tameside and Bury started off the day as joint leaders of the Fours League with Astley & Tyldesley in 5th place. Tameside won the first Fours League match to take the title, with Bury falling away in the second half of the match. Astley & Tyldesley's 2nd place ahead of Sheffield in this match left the Gin Pit outfit needing a 2nd place in the second match to secure 3rd place in the final table. A & T turned in a sterling display to win the 2nd match, ahead of Heckmondwike, Goshen and Hull, to leap over Sheffield and Heckmondwike and finish 3rd in the final table, behind Tameside and Bury.

Sheffield ran out easy winners on the day in the Junior League match, but Bury's 2nd place was sufficient for them to clinch the Junior League title. Astley & Tyldesley finished 3rd on the day and 3rd overall.

Astley & Tyldesley held their Club Individual Championships under the Gin Pit floodlights. With the club's top riders missing for various reasons, it was the turn of the club's newer riders to steal the show. Joe Twiss stormed to a 16 points maximum score to win the cup, ahead of Warren Mee with Jeff Radcliffe taking 3rd place. John Nuttall won the U-13 category, ahead of Dylan Radcliffe and Charlie Keirl.
