AN accident blackspot where a teenager was killed earlier this year was the site of another collision on Sunday.
A motorbike and Ford Fiesta crashed in Bolton Road, near the junction of Homer Street, where 15-year-old Natalie Danielle Pickwick Jones was killed in February. The Radcliffe High School pupil, of Olsberg Close, died after being in collision with a Toyota MR2 as she crossed Bolton Road.
The latest incident happened at around 1.10pm when eye-witnesses said the Fiesta was heading out of Radcliffe and turning right into Homer Street when it collided with the motorcycle which was travelling in the same direction. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance and the road was closed for a short time.
Since 2001, there have been more than 28 reported accidents on Bolton Road, including two fatalities. In June, Greater Manchester Police identified Bolton Road as an accident blackspot and targeted speeding drivers with mobile cameras. Results are still being collated by the police from the campaign.
Witnesses to Sunday's accident should contact the road policing unit at Bury on 856 8073.
