THE search is back on for the area's top young citizen.
The Journal is looking for youngsters up to the age of 18 who have made an impact in their local community. Charity work, the field of education, environment, sport are all areas where the Young Citizen of the Year 2004 may have been a shining example.
The winner will receive the Leigh Journal Young Citizen of the Year trophy at a glittering ceremony at Leigh Town Hall on the night of the big Christmas Lights switch-on, Thursday November 25.
The winner and his or her family will be guests of honour at the awards ceremony which will follow the lights switch-on.
To enter, just describe in no more than 250 words why your nominee should receive the award.
All entries should be sent to Leigh Journal Young Citizen of the Year, Leigh Journal, 44-46 Railway Road, Leigh, WN7 4AT. The closing date for entries is Thursday, November 11. The winner will be announced in the Journal of November 18. All entries must include a daytime contact telephone number.
