HOWE Bridge Community Environment week got off to a great start.
Now the villagers will continue to enjoy themselves on Thursday night sampling the cheeses and wines of France (take along a bottle and join in) from 8pm onwards in the Leigh Road Scout headquarters when they will hear about the delights of twin town Angers and the Loire Valley.
On Friday (9am-11am) there's a coffee morning at the Scout HQ plus energy efficiency advice and a free low energy bulb for those who call in. Also on Friday, at 7.30pm, youth is catered for with live music from Flipside as part of the Church's Mission Weekend. Admission is by ticket only, call 01942 883359 for more information or to book.
On Saturday morning from 8.30am there's a village tidy up operation. Call Terry Daly on 01942 894350 for details and between 11am and 3pm local schools will stage an art and craft exhibition at St Michael's Church.
Saturday night from 7.30pm is Lancashire Hot Pot night and family fun night (bring your own drinks) at the Scout headquarters .
Sunday marks the end of environment week with holy communion at 9.30am at St Michael's Church followed by a litter pick around the grounds and surrounding areas. The week ends in style with songs of praise in St Michael's Church and afterwards the Bridgers invite everyone to join them for refreshments in the Scout HQ.
