REACHING a milestone birthday was a perfect excuse for David Lewis to raise some cash for charity.
Mr Lewis, from Bradley Fold in Radcliffe, held a fundraising bash to celebrate his 40th birthday and raised money for Bury Hospice. He trailed around Radcliffe, Little Lever and Manchester to find businesses willing to donate prizes for the night, held at Dobbies Sports and Social Club. Family and friends joined Mr Lewis in an evening of entertainment with bingo and raffles to raise £355.
Mr Lewis said: "I was overwhelmed at the generosity of everybody. We raised money for charity while adding an element of fun to the party."
