LEADERS AFC Tyldesley lost their first game on the season in the Leigh Soccer League.
After opening with six straight league wins, Tyldesley were beaten 4-3 by title rivals Asda Golborne who closed the gap at the top of the table. Spencer (2), Munro and an og made up the Asda total with Grimes, Renshaw and Heyes replying for Tyldesley.
Aspull cemented second place with a hard-earned 2-1 win over bottom club Rope and Anchor. Ince and Parkinson netted for Aspull with Roberts replying for Rope.
Fir Tree Rangers and Atherton Sports and Social both won for the first time. Fir Tree beat Atherton Libs 4-2 while Atherton S&S won 5-1 at Atherton Colls Reserves. In the final game Leigh Legion went down 4-2 to De La Salle.
