FOR many years I have been angered by the selfish and illegal behaviour of drivers who hog the middle lane of motorways. I attributed their poor skills to ignorance of the law.
In your letters page, October 18, however, we actually have a person prepared to try and defend this anti-social practice.
Mr Ronald Hodgson believes that rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men. I wonder, Mr Hodgson, which group do you feel you belong to? The Police, The Institute of Advanced Motorists and 30,000 Approved Driving Instructors would disagree with him on this issue.
If all drivers would just follow the rules, without applying their own warped interpretations, many deaths and injuries would be avoided.
Surely, Mr Hodgson, that fact alone will persuade you to join us sensible people, on the right side of the law and the left side of the motorway (unless overtaking).
MARK PATTISON, Edward Street, Rishton.
