SPARKS are set to fly on October 30 when Bury holds its biggest ever firework display.
To celebrate 20 years in the firework business, Radcliffe businessman Peter Stephenson is donating £20,000 worth of professional pyrotechnics to stage a charity firework and light show in Burrs Country Park in aid of Pendlebury children's hospital.
Mr Stephenson, who runs Celebration Displays, said: 'It really will be an amazing display, usually seen only at places Alton Towers and Disneyworld.'
Opening the event will be child television star Dominique Jackson, known to youngsters as Becky in Barnarby and Becky. She also played Saffron in Buried Treasures, alongside the late John Thaw.
In addition to the display, there will be a mini-funfair, a roadshow, a light show, barbecue and outdoor bar. Entrance is £2 with children under one metre tall getting in free. Gates open at 6pm, starting with a pre-display build-up before the 8pm start.
