NELSON residents have been told by councillors 'the years of conflict are over'.
Residents in Whitefield are being asked to take part in a week of work to plan how they want the area to look in the future.
A team from architectural charity, the Prince's Foundation, will be putting together a design based around Manchester Road, Kensington Street, the Leeds and Liverpool canal, Carr Road and Market Street.
The Enquiry by Design project will be based at Silverman Hall and will start on November 22.
Pendle Borough Council leader Coun Alan Davies said: "The past few years have been ones of conflict between the council and residents, and decay and blight in Whitefield.
"This is the start of a new era. The Prince's Foundation has made a statement of faith and we do not intend to let this chance fall out of our grasp."
