BARNOLDSWICK is hoping its first ever maritime festival will go with a bang on November 7.
The town's community arts group is creating giant lantern ships as part of Barnoldswick's Fire Show Fantasia and is looking for volunteers to help out.
Schools and community groups are getting involved and there will be open workshops in Victory Park from November 4-6.
Arts group organiser David Whipp said: "The challenge is for people young and old and from different neighbourhoods and walks of life to join together to create as many ship sculptures as we can.
"It's a unique opportunity for folk to get involved."
The festivities are being funded by Pendle Community Network and the ships will be the main attraction at Barnoldswick Town Council's fireworks spectacular.
