A PRIMARY school got into the season's spirit by transforming its hall into an ice-skating rink as an end of term treat.
The Parent Teacher Association at St Mary's RC School, Mayfield Avenue, Oswaldtwistle, put on the event seven years ago and decided it was time to do it again.
Stephen Wells, headteacher, said: "The children don't often get chance to go ice-skating in an environment where the little ones can go on without any older children around."
And reception teacher Sheila Dalton added: "We like to do things slightly differently so the children can have a treat every now and again.
"Just as the first signs of winter arrive it is nice to start the season off with a fun event for all."
