FORMER captain Ryan Parr has left Great Harwood Town.
Parr is set to join Clitheroe after failing to regain his place in the Harwood side following the Friday night draw with Bacup Borough two weeks ago, which he missed through work commitments.
Manager Dave Sharples said: "I had to keep the same side because we drew with the league leaders and the week after we had another decent performance.
"Ryan wasn't happy and decided he wanted to leave the club and move on.
"I thought he might give it a bit longer after being here a few years but you can't play every week if other lads are doing a decent job."
Sharples hopes to have Andrew Taylor and Paul Goldthorpe back in the squad for tomorrow's trip to Thornaby in the FA Vase first round.
Defender Chris Sutton has been brought in from Chorley for a game which Sharples hopes will give his side a rest from the rigours of being bottom of the North West Counties Division One table.
"It's good to have a break from the league," said Sharples. "We've just got to go up there and give it our best shot because financially it will benefit the club.
"At Maine Road last week we should have got something but, unfortunately, it doesn't go for you when you're down there.
"But the two previous games had been encouraging because we got two draws and two good performances."
Stockton-based Thornaby are having similar problems to Great Harwood in Albany Northern League Division One, currently lying second bottom.
