WITNESSES to an incident in which a Darwen schoolgirl was hit by a Ford Transit van are being urged to contact the police.
Officers are appealing for help in tracing the driver of the white van in the accident on Monday. The driver failed to stop.
The girl was making her way to Darwen Moorland High School with friends when she was clipped by the passing vehicle.

"The unidentified white Ford Transit van struck her with its wing mirror as it sped past.
"As a result the schoolgirl has sustained a nasty injury to her shoulder.
"We are appealing for any witnesses to this incident which happened at approximately 8.40am."
Anyone with information should contact PC 3270 Latham at Darwen Police Station on 01254 51212.
