BLACKBURN is set to go 'insania' next month when pop star Peter Andre comes to town to switch on the Christmas lights.
The Aussie star, famous for hits including Mysterious Girl and Insania, will be in Blackburn on Thursday, November 18, to kick-start the festive season.
But it is still a mystery whether Peter's own girl, glamour model Jordan, will be with the I'm a Celebrity star in King William Street on the night.
The singer will take to the stage at 5.30pm for the switch-on, which will be accompanied by a firework display.
The evening is being hosted by Blackburn with Darwen Council in partnership with Blackburn Shopping Centre.
Other entertainment will include a mix of contemporary and traditional Christmas music.
Coun Andy Kay, executive member for regeneration said: "This year's Christmas light switch-on promises to be one of the best nights of this festive season."
The late-night shopping period will begin with a bang as the shops stay open late to enjoy the fireworks. This year also sees the unveiling of new all-white Christmas lights for the town.
The council has signed up a Scottish company, which helps organise Blackpool's famous illuminations, as well as festive lights in Glasgow and Manchester, in a three-year deal.
Local boy band D-Rail, will also take to the stage.
There will be fire artists alongside the larger than life characters from this year's King George's Hall panto - Sleeping Beauty - local comedy band The Swing Commanders and Blackburn People's Choir.
