A CONTROVERSIAL application to convert a private house into a centre for the mentally ill was given the green light despite 200 objections.
Lancashire Social Services was set to convert the Limes, in Blackburn Road, Darwen, following approval from the planning committee.
The centre was to be used as a meeting place for people with mental health problems in the community and for group counselling sessions.
