AN anonymous complaint about dog walkers in Great Harwood throwing dog poo into litter bins and in hedges could result in special doggie bins being installed.
A resident from Waverledge Estate wrote a letter reporting seeing dog walkers bagging-up dog excrement, then dropping the bags into litter bins or throwing them into hedges and on to pavements.
The letter said the bins near to St Wulstan's School, Commercial Road were the worst affected and often overflowing and smelling badly.
At this week's Great Harwood area council meeting councillors agreed to put a request into the council's cleansing department to clean the bins and promised to talk to the parks department about budgeting for new doggie bins in the area next year.
