HIGH-flying teenager Hannah Elliott is more than just an ace of the sky - she is also enjoying soaring success on the sports field.
Cadet Sergeant Hannah has been named Sports Cadet of the Year 2004, by the Air Cadets Regional Headquarters (North). Hannah, who lives in Unsworth and attends Bury Grammar School, is a member of 1832 (North Manchester) Squadron, which parades at Plant Hill High School in Blackley.
Hannah, described as a prolific, active and enthusiastic participant in all sport, takes part in several sports not only within the Air Cadet organisation, but also at club and school level. The 15-year-old has represented her school at netball, athletics and tennis. On top of all that Hannah is also a member of the Sale Harriers running club, and Bury Jaguars Hockey Club.
Regional physical education officer, Squadron Leader Pat Mellish said: "Hannah exemplifies all that is best about the Air Cadet organisation, always willing to participate in sports or events that are not her usual or natural forte.
"Hannah is an excellent role model for the younger members of the air cadet organisation. While she gives her very best to win in every event in which she competes, she also accepts defeat in a sporting manner, always looking for the positive, which can be learnt from the experience."
Hannah now goes on to represent the north of England in nominations for the National Sports Cadet of the Year Award.
