A RESIDENT at a supported housing project went berserk at staff who feared she was going to kill herself, a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard two workers and a police officer were assaulted in the fracas.
And the bench heard Jenny Claire Kirby also had to be talked down of the roof of Blackburn Town Hall and from a ledge round the multi-storey car park.
Kirby, 18, of Lincoln Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to two charges of using threatening behaviour, three of assault and one of causing damage to a wardrobe.
She was given a conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
Eddie Harrison, prosecuting, saidthe incident occurred when a member of staff was told that Kirby was saying she was going to take some tablets. Two workers went to her room and found her lying on the bed.
Vikki Wadsworth, defending, said Kirby was being helped by the community mental health system.
"This is a very troubled young lady and she has accepted all the support that is being made available to her," said Miss Wadsworth.
"She is extremely sorry about these incidents."
