LOCAL people who reckon they have a talent for acting and a desire to get themselves on screen are being offered a unique opportunity next week.
An Acting for Film and Television training course is coming to the Royal Kings Arms Hotel, Lancaster, for three nights - with 10 places up for grabs by actors who are 'genuinely interested, enthusiastic and prepared to give it their all'.
Lessons will include learning to slate to camera, cold read for films, audition for adverts, network with castings directors, compile a show reel and get called to auditions.
The Film Actors Workshop next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings (November 2 to 4) will be led by Shane Munro, film producer and actors' agent.
The workshop has won high praise from top casting directors and is regarded as being the fastest route to getting work in film and television without having to spend months training in drama college, he says.
It is quite intensive but aims to develop the skills of those taking part in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, he adds.
Booking is essential as places are limited. To find out more, call 0035374-9126994 or e-mail filmactorsworkshop@eircom.net
