THE family and friends of a teenager killed at one of the town's notorious accident blackspots are to celebrate her 16th birthday with a party in her memory.
Natalie Danielle Pickwick Jones died after a collision with a car in Bolton Road, Radcliffe, in February this year. She would have been 16 next Tuesday.
Her parents, David Jones and Elaine Pickwick, of Olsberg Close, Radcliffe, have organised a special party in Radcliffe this Saturday, to raise money for, and awareness of, RoadPeace - a charity set up to help the families of road accident victims.
Friends of Natalie also plan to light candles and stage a short, silent vigil at 7pm on Saturday night, at the spot where the youngster was killed.
Mr Jones said: "What happened to Natalie touched a lot of people, not just me and her mum. We wanted to do something for all her friends and family, so we thought that celebrating her birthday and raising money at the same time would be a good idea."
The couple have supported RoadPeace since Natalie's death after they were offered support and advice from the group.
A RoadPeace plaque in Natalie's memory has been placed near the site of her death, outside the Chef's Pantry sandwich shop in Bolton Road.
