AN East Lancashire sanctuary for battered women closed after women were accused of treating it like a hotel.
The home operated for four years as the last hope for more than 200 mothers and 400 children who fled from violent husbands.
But boss Dorothy Russell said: "We are getting fewer genuine cases. We have more and more women who have just upped and left their husbands when he has perhaps just slapped her once across the face."
