CRICKET umpire Tom Wilson gave a humorous talk on his sporting life to Tyldesley Probus Club. He started in the Northern League at the age of 17, progressing to the minor counties and in 1968. He became a first-class umpire in 1976, officiating in county, John Player and Gillette Cup matches.
