SINGING sensation David Kidd will return to Leigh Miners next year following his sell-out show at the club where he was first spotted.
Concert secretary Tommy Higgins and his artiste wife, Betty Taylor, discovered the 33-year-old Leigh vocalist when he was 18 and he was delighted to be back to his roots to thank the couple and raise £290 for Macmillan Nurses.
David, also a great vocal impressionist, received a standing ovation following his 75-minute spectacular which included impressions from Dean Martin to Enrique Iglesias.
He said: "It meant a lot to me to come back to where it all started."
He will be back performing at a Valentine's ball at the Miners' club in Twist Lane on February 10. Tickets are £10 including buffet and a donation to Macmillan Nurses. Call Tracy on 07721 943030 for tickets.
