A BLACKBURN girl narrowly escaped death after her horse walked through an electrically "live" puddle of water in Pendlebury near Manchester.
The horse died but the girl was saved by her leather saddle and riding boots and was thrown just inches clear of the water.
Vandals who had ripped out cables from a nearby lamp post were blamed for the near tragedy.
