EDUCATION bosses in the borough have recruited an expert to attract and keep quality teachers in the borough.
Former headteacher Christine Abbott has been appointed as the councils first recruitment and retention strategy officer.
Her job will include bringing newly-qualified teachers to Bury and encouraging those thinking of returning to teaching, along with promoting professional development for staff and a work/life balance.
Councillor Maggie Gibb, executive member for lifelong learning, said: "In an increasingly competitive market for staff, we aim to attract excellent, committed staff and assist in their professional development and personal satisfaction."
