Heaton Moor Ladies 0 Leigh RU Ladies 64: ANOTHER good performance from the Leigh RU Ladies team produced a superb results.
Good interlinking work between the forwards and the backs was the secret of their success with Abi Kay, Dianne Westwell and Helen Pennington outstanding.
The first try of the game came from good tactical kicking by Pennington and pressure from Kay, which led to a touchdown under the posts, which Pennington converted.
Kay scored three more tries during the game, two of which were from inter passing moves with Rachel Blundell.
Ann-Marie Boardman celebrated her first game back after 12 months off to have her second
child, by combining with Jo ' Forrest' Richies for a superb try. Richies picked up the ball on the half way line and ran outside of her opposing winger before passing to Boardman. She then drew the player and passed the ball back on the outside for Richies to score.
In all 10 tries and seven conversions were scored with Kay leading the way with four, Aspinall 2 and one each from Richies, Lycett, Bullock and Blundell. Pennington added the seven conversions.
