POLICE at Leigh are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old youth died following an accident in Westhoughton.
Christopher Hoy, of Buckley Street, Wigan, died in hospital on Friday night.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision on Dicconson Lane, Westhoughton, on Thursday, October 14, shortly after 8pm.
Mr Hoy suffered severe head injuries when his Peugeot 106 collided with a house and a parked car.
Mr Hoy was driving a silver Peugeot 106, when it collided with the railings of a house in Dicconson Lane and a parked Ford Escort.
He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital suffering from serious head injuries, severe pelvic injuries and a broken wrist. He was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Walton Hospital in Liverpool, where he died.
One of the passengers in the car, a 14-year-old girl from Wigan, suffered a fractured pelvis and was taken to the Wigan Royal Albert Hospital.
A second passenger, a 14-year-old girl from Swinley, was also taken to the Wigan Royal Albert Hospital suffering from a fractured right arm and facial injuries.
Both girls are recovering from their injuries.
