THE stars will be out to light up Accrington's this Christmas.
Andrew Mackintosh, DS Greig in The Bill, and Tiffany Chapman, Rachael Jordache in Brookside, have been booked to turn on the town centre lights.
They will be joined by the Mayor of Hyndburn, Coun Miles Parkinson, for a night of fun on Thursday, November 18.
From 5.30pm, a stage outside the town hall will host entertainment for an hour, with the official switch-on at 6.30pm.
This year, Accrington is competing with councils across Lancashire all hoping to outshine each other with celebrity guests.
In Blackburn, Australian crooner Peter Andre will be pushing the button, while Blackpool's famous illuminations were switched on by former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell.
In Accrington, Thursday also marks the start of late night shopping.
