HIGH-FLYING Trafford proved too strong for Great Harwood Town, despite a brave late fight-back by the Robins.
The Manchester side, who lie fifth in NWCL Division One, raced in to a two-goal lead inside the first 20 minutes through a 25-yard pile-driver from Phil Carratt and a close-range effort from Tom Purcell.
A strike early in the second half by Scott Weir put the hosts in cruise control, however, Paul Mashiter quickly pulled one back from the spot after he was felled in the area by Colin Bulwich.
Andrew Taylor flicked home a corner on 89 minutes to set up a frantic finale, but sadly it was too little too late for the Robins.
