PEOPLE in Darwen are being asked to be extra cautious after a selection of fireworks were stolen from a grocer's shop in Brighton Terrace.
Various fireworks are missing, including large rockets which the police have advised could be dangerous in the wrong hands.
DC Muzz Khan, from Darwen CID, has urged anyone with information about the theft to contact her.
She said: "We just want to get the message across that fireworks can be dangerous if not handled properly by an adult who knows what they are doing.
"There has been quite a large amount stolen including rockets which we wouldn't want to end up in the wrong hands."
Thieves broke a lock on the front door of the shop at around 5.15am last Friday where they found a set of car keys for a black VW Golf worth £5,000, which they also stole.
Anyone with information about the fireworks or the car, which had the registration T656 LEF, should contact Darwen CID on 01254 353843.
