WHY can't the new school planned for Darwen be built on the Blacksnape playing fields?
The pitches are permanently water-logged and in a very windy area.
New pitches could be built on land between Sough Road and Pole Lane where it is more sheltered.
A school in the Redearth area of the town would cause untold traffic problems.
Incidentally, Mill Hill had streets of sub-standard houses which were upgraded. Now the area is an attractive desirable place, with money well spent by the council.
