THE important work carried out by the NSPCC was spelled out to the pupils of St Mary's CE Primary School in Hawkshaw.
The charity's representative Pam Smith visited the village school to talk to pupils about the NSPCC. Following the special assembly, children adopted the organisation as their Harvest charity and took part in fundraising events, including a sponsored spell, which raised a total of £627.
Headteacher Geraldine Woodward said: "All the children appreciate how lucky they are to have plenty of food, safe homes and loving families. They have been extremely generous."
