CHILDREN held a day of celebration to mark the work they had completed as part of an inspirational art scheme.
Youngsters from St Luke's Primary School, and Holy Trinity, Bury, along with year six pupils from Cams Lane Primary School, Radcliffe, took part in the My Place in This Space event, at Bury Met arts centre.
The pupils from each of the schools used objects from Bury Museum'scollection to inspire their arts and crafts. The youngsters from Cams Lane were visited by poets Norman Warwick and Pam McKee, as part of the project.
And while the Radcliffe children worked with poets, Holy Trinity concentrated on dance with Ruth Jones, and St Luke's pupils worked with musician Chris Davies.
Museum objects have been taken into each of the schools, and the poems, dances and music have been developed with the help of the specialists. The day at Bury Met gave the children a chance to display their new talents and skills, using the work they had done with the professionals.
Cams Lane recited together their poetry in front of teachers and other pupils, and Holy Trinity took to the stage, performing special moves and routines, with dancer Ruth Jones.
Children from St Luke's banged, blew and shook their instruments to put on a performance of their work, with musician Chris Davies.
