BLACKBURN Rovers Ladies put last week's rare defeat behind them to grab an important three points at the expense of Tranmere Rovers.
And once again Rovers struck an injury-time winner, courtesy of a Sarah McRea back post finish, to leave the visitors cursing their misfortune.
Rovers held a slim 1-0 advantage at half-time thanks to an Andrea Bell strike, only for the Birkenhead side to level matters after the restart.
However McRea popped up to win it at the death, much to the delight of boss Andy McNally.
"I'm more than pleased with the win which gives us 18 points," he said.
"We now have a nice gap between ourselves and the bottom sides so the players can have no fear going into the next set of fixtures.
"Tranmere have just dropped down a division and have real quality throughout the team. I would have been pleased with a point so to get a victory was a phenomenal effort."
,,The players deserve all the credit in the world people need to remember that most of them have played their football at a lower level and now that Rovers are in their highest league ever we are still managing to hold our own.
