NEIL Zarac was the hero for Darwen last night with both goals in the home win over Castleton Gabriels.
Steve Mullen has now led his side to three games unbeaten after the defeat to Nelson last month, ideal preparation for the visit of former manager Steve Wilkes, who brings his Padiham side to the Anchor on Saturday.
Before the game the Darwen boss was insisting that his players were getting to a stage where they now expect to win games and this confidence was confirmed by Zarac's 19th minute opener.
It took just seven minutes for lowly Gabriels to pull level when Hatton equalised.
But just before the hour Zarac pounced for his second and the winner.
