A ROSSENDALE beat bobby is transforming himself into a bright yellow bee to drive home a road safety message.
Police community support officer Nick Stratton was set to visit four primary schools in the borough today as part of Lancashire County Council's Road Safety Be Safe Be Seen campaign.
Dressed as the campaign's mascot Buzzy Bee, he was due to visit St Anne's, Edgeside, Waterfoot Primary, St Joseph's and Holy Trinity Primary Schools.
Pupils at schools throughout the Valley are to be given road safety packs containing luminous stickers to attach on to their coats.
PCSO Stratton said: "Now that the clocks have gone back, the evenings are getting darker much sooner.
"It's important to make sure the children are aware of the road safety issues and that they can be seen at night.
"With many of them taking part in after-school clubs until around 4.30pm each night, it's extremely dark when they are coming out of school."
