IREAD in my Sunday paper that the government is going to give parents up to £450 in holiday vouchers if they promise not to take their children on holiday during term time.
This is to stop parents taking advantage of cheap holiday deals.
A deal has been struck between Consumer Minister Gerry Sutcliffe and three well-known travel agents, so why all the fuss?
If children don't want to be educated and parents can't be bothered, leave them to it.
They will be the losers in the long run when their children are unemployable due to lack of education.
I wonder if this is what is bothering the government when they think they may in the future have to pay these children benefits because they will be unemployable?
No way should the public be paying out of their taxes for these holidays.
There are some pensioners in this country who cannot even afford one day at Blackpool.
But governments in this country don't care about pensioners.
