STAFF and volunteers at Darwen's Help the Aged shop are getting ready for a Glitz and Glamour Party to be held on the premises in School Street.
The event, on Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13, will give customers the opportunity to buy fashionable party wear at bargain prices, as well as toys and gifts.
Shop manager Nina Penney, said: "This party is an occasion to raise funds to secure and support older people everywhere, especially now the cold season is upon us and they will need more care than usual.
"Everyone is invited to join in the party and we will have a large variety of items on sale including evening wear for all ages and sizes, accessories and Christmas gifts."
Help the Aged provides practical support to help older people live independent lives, particularly those, who are frail, isolated or poor.
Current projects include 'SeniorLink' which provides community alarm telephones, 'SeniorMobility' providing specially adapted minibuses and 'SeniorLine' 0808 800 6565, a free welfare rights advice service from Help the Aged.
