LOCAL MPs Andy Burnham, Ian McCartney and Neil Turner will meet the Wigan & Leigh branch of Carers UK which represents thousands of 'unsung heroes' who look after family, partners or friends who are ill, frail or have a disability.
Branch members identified several areas of concern, and decided to enlist their MPs' support to help improve carers' lives.
Jim Barton, joint branch chairman, said: "We are pleased that the MPs have agreed to meet and discuss with us the issues which do give concern to carers It is essential that carers are listened to."
The meeting starts at 10.30am on Friday at the Masonic Hall, Bryn. The branch carers' helpline can be contacted on 01942 606086.
