LEIGH College went down 5-2 to South Trafford who dominated the early possession.
Marshall Street were second best to every ball in the opening 20 minutes and deserved to be 2-0 down with just over half an hour played.
Instead of crumbling this seemed to galvanise Marshall Street and they now started to play the ball around with Tom Parkinson and Andy Hampson taking a firm hold of the game.
A neat interchange allowed Carey Lowton to release a 35 yard through ball for the predatory Lee Hallworth to rifle his shot into the top right hand corner. The pressure began to tell and John Bent played a sublime through ball for the advancing Hallworth who buried his shot low past the advancing keeper. Marshall Street switched off in the final minutes of the half and were punished when a neat flick on allowed South Trafford to take a 3-2 lead at half time. Entering the final 15 minutes stamina began to tell on the Marshall Street players who now began to look weary but pressed forward in search of an equaliser. Marshall Street continued to press forward this allowed Trafford to catch them on the break and score to effectively put the game out of reach. At 4-2 the heads began to drop and in the injury time Trafford compounded the pain by scoring a fifth.
