CHOCOLATE-FLAVOURED canals and streets without cars are the ideal ingredients for a perfect town - according to junior school children in East Lancashire.
Youngsters were given the chance to show the grown-ups what they'd like to see in their town, with the most creative ideas featured in a new calendar.
The My Perfect Town project is being run by Elevate, the company set up to take charge of a masssive housing development project across East Lancashire, and Design East Lancashire.
Six schools in the areas earmarked for housing market renewal under the Elevate scheme are taking part in the project. Artists from Mid-Pennine Arts organisation are working with the pupils.
The schools taking part are: Cherry Fold County Primary School, Cog Lane, Burnley; Lomeshaye Junior School, Norfolk Street, Nelson; St Mary's RC Primary School, Tong Lane, Bacup; Griffin Park CP, Cavendish Place, Blackburn; Lord Street County Primary School, Lord Street, Colne; and Hyndburn Park County Primary, Park Road, Accrington.
