Accrington Stanley players Peter Cavanagh and Ian Craney have made the cut for the 16-man England National Game XI squad to face Italy in an Under 23 international next month.
Manager Paul Fairclough selected the Reds duo for the initial, bigger, squad last month.
Now full back Cavanagh and midfielder Craney have been shortlisted to travel to next month's game.
They join goalkeepers David Stockdale (York City), Nikki Bull (Aldershot); defenders David Perkins (Morecambe), Chris Blackburn (Morecambe), Simon King (Barnet), Ismail Yakubu (Barnet); midfielders Dean Sinclair (Barnet), Stuart Thurgood (Grays Athletic), Scott Kerr (Scarborough), Ben Surey (Gravesend & Northfleet), Rob Purdie (Hereford United); strikers Karl Hawley (Carlisle United), Anthony Elding (Stevenage Borough) and Andrew Bishop (York City).
Meanwhile, Accrington Stanley's game with Northwich Victoria, originally scheduled for January 29, has been brought forward to Saturday, November 13 after both sides were knocked out of the FA Cup at the weekend.
