l PRESTWICH schoolgirl Jane Hall (14) was the youngest exhibitor in a display at the North West Arts Association, Manchester.
Jane, a Philips High School pupil, made a waistcoat with hexagonal design and a childs dress decorated with a clamshell pattern.
l THE Prestwich Revue Company performed The Boyfriend to near-capacity audiences at St Hildas School. Producer and director Lynda Burton also put in a performance as Madame Dubonnet.
l FATHER Christmas made one of his first appearances of the year at Prestwich Parish Church. The seasonal character was special guest at the autumn fair, which raised £1,250 for church funds.
l FATHER-OF-TWO John ORourke bravely escorted his family to safety after a fire broke out at their home in Gardner Road, Prestwich. An electrical fault was believed to have melted through a gas pipe in the living room and Mr ORourke managed to close the door on the blaze before leading his wife and children outside.
l ROYAL British Legion standard bearer Mrs Helen Richardson was chosen to fly the flag on Remembrance Sunday for the South East Lancs County. Mrs Richardson, the standard bearer for the Prestwich Branch, was chosen to represent the Countys Womens section.
