ON Saturday October 23, my partner, myself and my autistic son went shopping in Bury. Our first visit was to the Lloyds TSB cash machine where we withdrew £100.
After window shopping and browsing for some time I came to pay for a purchase and discovered, to my horror, that my purse was missing. It had been in my handbag which was firmly zipped. I am always careful and couldn't believe it had gone. I reported the loss to the shop and Mill Gate staff, then telephoned Bury police.
The police were understanding and helpful and I was telephoned by a WPC and then visited at home by PC Lester Ellis about an hour after the theft. Bury police could not have been more helpful.
So, shoppers beware - but do ring the police if you need them.
