UNABLE to settle on Halloween, expecting uninterrupted ringing of the door-bell, with many coins close to the door in preparation for the dreaded Trick or Treat onslaught, I was so wrong.
All callers were polite, undemanding and well-turned out in their witches' robes.
Despite having prepared a fair heap of coins, which had almost ran out; the last group of six youngsters when told of the shortage of coins replied we are not looking for money, a biscuit will be fine.
We had a good laugh and they went away with a couple of fifty-pences and a slice of home-made cake each.
