GREAT Harwood Town won through to the third round of the League Challenge Cup despite what manager Dave Sharples described as a "below par performance".
In what was the battle of the bottom teams - Town prop up NWCL Division One while the Rochdale side are rooted to the foot of Division Two - all the scoring came in the first period, the first of which via Paul Mashiter's tenth goal of the season.
Hatton equalised for the visitors on the half hour mark before debutant Lee Usborne completed the scoring shortly before half-time to book the Robins' place in the next round.
