I'M writing about the Boundary Committee's recommendation to put Fernhurst Ward into Rossendale and Darwen constituency.
Why have they not put Fernhurst Ward in Blackburn constituency, which it should be in, as it is near Ewood, which is in Blackburn constituency?
The only reason is that if Fernhurst was in Blackburn it might cause a big upset, for its MP Jack Straw could be beaten at the next election, as Fernhurst is a Tory ward.
But why is Oakdale Estate which is just at the boundary in Blackburn, should it not be in Rossendale and Darwen?
I think an independent committee that has no political party members in it should look at both wards and decide on whether one or both should be in Rossendale and Darwen or Blackburn constituencies that would be fair.
